We have been working with PECT and East Lindsey District Council - creating an Energy Advice van.
We initially had the call and instantly understood what they were asking for and also added many ideas into the mix making it a trickier build but also, a magical one.
An enticing vehicle visitors will want to enter and enquire about energy saving ideas and even asking about possible grants available for making your home more green.
An E-transit L3 H3 base vehicle which is a fully electric vehicle.
We have fitted a 375w solar panel to the roof and 400ah lithium batteries to power the systems in the rear.
As you would expect on an energy van we have 4 layers of insulation keeping the interior as the required temperature in any season.
A Maxxair fan was fitted to the roof so allow for air to be blown in or sucked out of the vehicle.
A fully custom floor and wall system was installed and then carpeted over to give a warm feeling throughout the van.
We have created a custom bulkhead towards the rear of the van to make a small garage for storage.
All furniture is made in a grey gloss with handle less doors.
The worktops are made from a recycled plastic although it gives a premium feel and feels like stone to the touch.
A 3000k Renogy inverter with custom remote switch was installed to run some of the energy displays, sockets for charging laptops and a coffee machine.
12v Infrared underfloor heating was installed into the van with a custom thermostatic control - with the lights, displays and underfloor heating the leisure batteries will last over 24hours without needing to be charged, far exceeding what would be necessary for it's use.
A 12v 32" TV was installed with HDMI ports throughout the van so the client can connect their laptops to the TV.
USB-A & USB-C's have been dotted around the vehicle too for laptop & device charging.
3D Displays were made for Heat Pumps, Solar Panels, Insulation and Lighting. Interactive / Immersive displays were things we discussed in our initial phone call with the client and was always the aim from the start of the build to give an interesting and inviting environment - just sticking a few stickers on a white board was not an option!
As with all our builds the devil is in the detail and there's is way too much behind the scenes to even mention here but what a great way to showcase what we do and to prove we are not JUST a camper van conversion company (although we love doing those too!).
Please get in touch if you have any vehicle conversion project that you require, camper vans or something 'different' we would love to hear from you!
